FLOW

WHITEPOINT Gallery 10th Anniversary Founder’s Exhibition

2023

FLOW is a show ten years in the making. Founder and resident artist Tom White featured a broad range of works, most of which have not been shown before.

“FLOW” represents several ideas at once - the artist mind, the creative process, the movement from thought to physicality, and not least of all, the movement from one distinctly different concept to another through obvious or obscure connections. Not without irony, it is also the name of one of the most complex process series of artworks in the exhibition.

Tom's process is a hybrid of the disciplines of photography, painting, design, science, technology in both analog and digital media. He will be showing his acrylic painting and photography mixed media, photo based new media, and contemporary print work, all new in the gallery.

“At the foundation of my work is the curiosity, exploration and juxtaposition of hidden things yet to be revealed in the world around us, whether natural or man-made. Beneath the surface, many things that we encounter regularly turn out to be far more glorious than we have time to imagine. I just give that view from my mind’s eye.”

Prior to cofounding WHITEPOINT with wife Lois in 2013, Tom had a long career as an art director and illustrator winning numerous awards for his work with national brands, agencies, publishers and companies.
