A variation on the original Industrial Romance series, this work explores the connection of industrial, architectural and digital technology. Original photographic material of mundane street objects is pulled apart and reconstructed through digital imaging creating a translucent spatial landscape.

Rorscapes

2008-2012

Reconstructed photographs; archival pigment print on heavyweight cotton rag.

Rorscapes is a series of images based on birds and cloudscapes. By using reflecting patterns and black and white imagery with the influence of the old Rorschach psychological test images, we are left to see new scapes that incorporate a strong mystical symmetry by randomly introducing abstract symbolism.

XOXO

2017

Reconstructed photographs; archival pigment print on heavyweight cotton rag.

Composed from one photograph of a panoramic sea and cloud vista, XOXO is a tribute to living by the beach and being exposed to the grand palette of nature and the great expanse of the ocean.

A selection of images from several photographic studies of urban industrial environments showing how the most basic geometry can be introduced to create new fantastical forms and impossible structures. They reveal how basic design can be introduced to simultaneously interrupt and reinforce traditional compositions in photography. The subjects of the working photographs were shot in Chelsea Market and The High Line in New York City.

Uncommon Object is a contemporary pop-influenced study of a common sentimental object, in this case a found pencil with some quirky features. The exploration involves using the object itself to invent new structures, colors, design concepts and patterns to expand the horizons of the object. Key to the study is the magnification of the object. The resulting images are produced in large-scale prints which reveal details unseen at life-size. The magnification is a metaphor for the importance and attention transcribed to such an object.

Composite original and vintage photographs, digital painting

"Poptimism!" is a multimedia series about the optimism of pop culture seen through the juxtaposition of mid century advertising photography and contemporary urban street art influence. It is a joyful, cheeky mashup of 1950s post war photography and graffiti aesthetic that marry original and vintage photography and digital painting.

Nature, Creation and science are layered with patterns, both organic and geometric. These images are studies of the comparison of the two aspects, how they interact when juxtaposed with each other, and how they contrast and complement each other while creating something different apart from themselves.
